Cabaret Singing and Performance
Learn the art of Cabaret Style performance.
Some lecture but mostly practical experience working in front of an audience. Class will give two public performances outside of regular class hours. This will be an ongoing class and new members are encouraged to join at any time. Interested in discovering what Cabaret Performance is on an audit basis? CREATIVE DIRECTION: Students will learn how to select a song they connect to personally, and that is appropriate to the venue. They will learn to develop arrangements to suit their voice and piano accompaniment.
VOCAL TECHNIQUES: Students will learn to find their key and discover and refine their unique vocal style, while learning to use a microphone.
AUDIENCE RAPPORT: Students will develop a Cabaret look to suit their personality. Students will learn to interpret and communicate lyrics, subtext, and story. They will develop Cabaret style patter incorporating storytelling and humor to introduce of their songs. All designed to build that personal connection with an intimate audience.
